At StepStone Family & Youth Services, our mission is simple yet profound: to create safe, supportive, and loving environments where children and youth in foster care can thrive. Our 2024 Quality and Impact Report is a testament to the dedication of our foster families and the commitment of our entire StepStone team.
Last year, 1,206 children lived in a StepStone foster home—each receiving the care, stability, and attention they deserve during a critical moment in their lives. Our homes are more than just places to stay; they are spaces of healing, belonging, and new beginnings. Just as powerful, 599 children exited our network with a positive permanency outcome in 2024. Whether through reunification with family, adoption, or guardianship, these outcomes reflect our deep, ongoing commitment to giving every child the chance to grow up in a permanent, supportive home.
These numbers represent more than just data. It’s a reflection of real lives that have been changed, futures shaped, and communities strengthened. They show the measurable impact of our trauma-informed approach, strong partnerships with local agencies, and the incredible efforts of our foster families, social workers, and behavioral health professionals.
As we look ahead, we remain focused on expanding access to care, recruiting and training dedicated foster families, and continuing to innovate around what children and families need most: compassion, consistency, and a chance to heal and grow.
