Teenage Foster Care Services
More than 23,000 children age out of U.S. foster care each year.1
Teens are sometimes overlooked by potential foster parents because people believe they are more self-sufficient, close to adulthood and don’t need a family. However, families help teen children with crucial milestones in becoming adults such as learning to drive, applying for college and jobs, and navigating complicated relationships.
The teenagers we serve have unique needs. It is vital they have continuing support in out-of-home care to reach their full potential as young adults. The needs of teens vary based on their individual situations. Some may need temporary out-of-home services as their biological family rehabilitates, some may need more permanent placements as they find their forever adoptive home, or some may need support as they transition to independent living.
Without the support that comes from an adoptive family, foster family or permanency connection, these teens face tough odds. But you can help. Contact us to learn more about how you can make a difference for a teen in need.
