Executive Director Sam Dyer Wins Dan Gregory Memorial Service Award for the Children’s Advocacy Center Heroes Without Capes Awards

Sam Dyer, Executive Director at A Place to Call Home (APTCH), a StepStone Family & Youth Services agency in Tucson, AZ, is the proud and honored recipient of the Dan Gregory Memorial Service Award presented by the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Sam has worked in child welfare helping to keep children safe since 1990. His career began as a Child Abuse and Neglect Investigator with CPS/DCS in Arizona, which led him to a Forensic Interviewer and Social Worker position for the Children at Risk program at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Later, Sam returned to Arizona CPS/DCS as an Investigative Unit Supervisor before taking a new role as Social Worker Supervisor at Casa de los Niños where he started the Foster Care Program and worked with his esteemed colleague and dear friend Dan Gregory, after whom this award is named.

In 2015, Sam joined APTCH Tucson as Executive Director and remains with us today. The APTCH Tucson office is proud to work alongside Sam in our joint efforts to help keep children safe and congratulates him for this well-deserved recognition.
